They fixed an intermittent problem with my 2000 4Runner that I have been struggling with for months. After picking up the vehicle, I had an issue on the way home. River Bend Auto Care was excellent in checking my care and repairing after a scary moment of almost losing my front wheel on I-95. Just a half mile from the next exit someone referred me to them and it was a blessing as I was still 4 hours from home. Immediately looked at my truck and saw the problem, quickly ordered the parts from local shops and we were on our way. Cost was as I expected for the type of repair. This review is long overdue. I found this shop via Google search and review in a time of need sitting along highway 295 with a dead car. After dealing with a major dealer and the cost more than 3 times what C & J would charge, I got the car towed to them. Being more than 200 miles from home and 350 from my destination they brought ease to the situation. After some diagnostic testing they fixed the problem. They kept the car secure until I was able to arrange transportation back to Chester, VA. The car finally got me to my final destination ?? the beach! Thank you to everyone at the shop to make another happy customer!

I am new in town and I was looking for mechanic shop that can look at my car the same day because the engine light turned on. I called two different mechanic shops first and called C & J to compare prices. C & J service is very reasonable and less expensive comparing to the two shops. The best part about C & J is that when I called, they were able to take care of my car immediately and the customer service was excellent. They did a diagnostic test and since the result/codes was caused by changing the battery, C & J did not charge me for the diagnostic test. Thank you C & J! If you are looking for auto services, I would highly recommend this shop.

I highly recommend C & J!! I was referred to them through family and so thankful! My timing chain went bad on my 2011 Buick Enclave and they were the cheapest in price upon many others I checked! They had the 15 hour job done within 2 days and back on the road running smoothly. Fast forward 6 months later, due to other reasons and ofcourse a GM product my tensioner broke on my timing chain. Even under warranty, they still did not have to fix it but these kind souls upheld my faith in humanity and covered the repair! They were amazing, and their efficiency was excellent. I called on a Saturday and requested my truck to be serviced as soon as possible. They had given me several options and requested my availability to see which best suits me. Feeling thankful, I asked to be serviced that following Tuesday morning; when I arrived at the facility it was clean, neat, and very well structured, with plenty of parking for customers. The office staff were very patient and considerate of all attendees in their establishment, offering refreshments and even requesting our permission and feedback before purchasing any parts or doing any additional repairs or fixes to the vehicle. I actually Googled this company because my vehicle was having some issues with accelerating and the check engine light was on. I took my car in to their shop that morning and the process was amazing. Within an hour, they text me to let me know they had found the problem and what my estimate would be. I held my breath because I knew it was going to be bad. Well, guess what? It was totally affordable. They completed the work and sent me another text letting me know that my vehicle was ready for pickup. All of this was done within the same day. I can't believe I drove around like this for 5 months with these issues. Li'l Red-My car now runs like she did when I bought it brand new 6 years ago. Your shop and your team are awesome and I will definitely recommend this location to everyone I know.

But sometimes there's just some jobs I can't do, mostly because of the specialized tools required. I like bringing my car here for those jobs. This place is fast, fair, and honest. My car wouldn't start in the parking lot of the library a couple blocks away, and I walked over and they sent 2 techs to go look at it and they were able to jump start it and bring it over. The battery needs to be replaced and they were quick and helpful when it was hot and I had two kids with me. The salesman spoke to my husband over the phone and explained the battery options and stuff with him since that's stuff I don't understand. Great customer service and quick. They even had some toys for my kids to play with in the waiting room.

Friendly staff made for getting my repairs there easier than elsewhere. They diagnosed the issue quickly plus did a free inspection. That was a good way for them to upsell me on the smaller, cheaper things that needed fixed while allowing me to keep in mind what I need to get done and how much that'll cost down the road. Two people recommended them to me so I knew I found trust them and that they'd listen to me and actually fix what the problem is without a hassle, which they did.

On our travels back from Florida started to hear a clunking sound coming from the rear of our 03 express van high top. We couldn't figure out if it was the differential or something else. Ended up spending the night in a hotel since everything was closed at 8pm. Made calls around to multiple shops, C & J said they could get us in. Once we limped the car over they put it up on a small lift just to start looking at it and allowing the other lift to finish its work. They found a leak coming from the differential. We assumed the diff was empty and maybe that went. After about an hour they found that the driver side rear tire was missing lugs and one of the studs actually snapped. So the tire was extremely loose and could of potentially fallen off on the drive home. The service was fast, they were on point, and took the time to thoroughly diagnose the problem. They kept us informed through the entire process. Highly recommend for repairs.

I was referred to this shop by a neighbor due to me still being fairly new to the area and I wanted to write a review for this company. I enjoyed my experience (I had to have a starter repaired). I like how they give the part # on the invoice of my receipt letting me know that it wasn't a reman but a new starter. I am a woman that DOES know her car parts, but I wasn't treated like how some individuals treat a woman/talk down to a woman assuming that she lacks car knowledge. Plus a nice young woman works there anyway. I had to wait at least a week after the service was done to write this review in case something happened to make me change my mind, just being honest. Everything is all good. I have every intention on returning to have one more job done for my car. I think my 20 old year car is in good hands with them.

My wife's van was having issues keeping the air conditioning nice and cool, especially in the back for our kids. After getting the run around at another shop "because the car is black, it's normal", we decided to bring it here. We are extremely pleased with the services we received. I have been having a problem with fuses blowing which wouldn't allow me to roll my windows down, lock my car doors, open up my truck and my car remote didn't work as well. The service personnel and mechanics of River's Bend Auto Service provided me with exemplary service. I was on my way home to Wilmington, NC from a trip to Pennsylvania when my car went dead at food stop in Chester, VA. I replaced the battery, however, all the "need service" warning lights flashed on. River's Bend Auto Service was highly recommended to me so I traveled there hoping that my car would make it without stalling out. The mechanics checked my battery and alternator as well as other areas under my hood. Meanwhile the service women behind the desk spent a better part of an hour calling around to various auto stores and a dealerships inquiring about the immediate availability of alternators in case the latter needed to be replaced. It was suggested that I go to the only Honda dealership around which was about a twenty minute drive in order to have my car diagnostically evaluated. I did so and Honda reset the codes on my car and all was well. River's Bend Auto Service would not have been able to do that but recognizing that I needed such help stirred me in the right direction so that I could then drive home the same evening free of difficulties. This time and effort on their part was provided without charge and with concern for my well being. They called me to make sure I found the Honda dealership and also the next morning to inquire as to the outcome. Words can not convey my appreciation and gratitude to all there for their help and concern. I highly recommend River's Bend Auto Service.

Mark worked with me to replace head gaskets on my 2005 LLY Duramax. Aside from a few minor things, and a long wait on the head shop, the work was done well. The price was very reasonable as well. Didn't replace anything that wasn't asked for. Put in ARP head studs as I'm running higher than normal boost and towing 10-14k regularly. Overall very satisfied with C&J. Very transparent, gave me back the replaced parts showing that it was necessary and made suggestions, but didn't push anything not needed. Over a thousand miles later, I'm getting better economy while towing and seeing cooler temps than ever. If I lived in Richmond, this would be my mechanic.

I took my wife's car in for an oil change and an alignment. I did not have an appointment. I walked in and although they were obviously busy, they were able to squeeze me in immediately. They performed the oil change and then pointed out that one tire was damaged and may not need an alignment if I were to replace the damaged tire. They then contacted a local tire shop, provided the tire size, confirmed they had the tire I needed, and was able to get me "referral discount on the tire.
